What is Classical Education?
Classical education is a philosophy of teaching that utilizes a child’s natural learning abilities. In the grammar school, children love repetition, singing, chanting and movement so these are used in all areas of learning. Once they move into middle school, they challenge their earlier thinking by asking questions, getting to the root of knowledge and understanding the world they live in. Finally, a student has been given knowledge, reconstructed that knowledge in their own understanding and now in the final phase of education they learn to present their knowledge and opinions eloquently and persuasively. In all levels, content is integrated to make every aspect of learning connected and meaningful.
