Throughout the year we run a few events that aim to advance fellowship and community in our school.
Family Fun Night at Jump, Rattle & Roll Nearly the whole school came out to get their wiggles out. Parents had fun chatting on the sofa while the kiddos from all ages jumped their heart out. It was a wonderful night to have fun together as a community and say hello to someone you might not have met before.
Family Fun Night: Movie Night We had a packed house munching on popcorn and celebrating a fantastic Read A Thon while watching Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. There were concessions to purchase and prizes distributed from the Read A Thon, and lots of laughs from the movie as well.
Teacher Appreciation Week The teachers at Cornerstone work hard to provide a wonderful education for out students. This is our way to thank them especially for what they do. We’ll provide lunches and little things throughout the week to remind them again of how much we appreciate them.
Veteran’s Day Assembly We invited veterans to our assembly where we heard some of their stories, sang patriotic hymns, listened to poetry like “In Flanders Field” be recited, and had a reception afterwards.
Dads and Donuts Dads, or another family member, were welcomed to the school where they got to start the morning with our regular morning assembly, then eat a donut together, play some games, do an obstacle course, and complete a scavenger hunt for some neat prizes.
NFL Day Kids got to dress up in Seahawk colors, or root for any team they wanted. During recess there was also face painting to make the day just a little bit more extra special.
Moms Celebration Moms, or another family member, were welcomed to the school for a special assembly. Each student shared why they loved their mom and presented her with an art piece; it was very honoring. The kids then went back to class and the moms had a scrumptious brunch in the foyer.
